I was born in Oradell, New Jersey, in 1931. I had the best of both worlds, Manhattan just across the Washington Bridge and Oradell with its brooks and trees and great places to ride bikes. In these diverse environments, I stored up many images which curiously pop up in my mind in an abstract manner and become part of my art work.
I have always delighted in making something out of nothing. Everything is grist for the mill. I think many artists are gleaners as I am, and we should be considered national treasures because of our gathering proclivities.
If my works generate small epiphanies for my viewers, I am well pleased.
